Before replacing the Converter or Stepper Motor please read:
Stepper motors more often than not fail due to an internal Water/Coolant leak from the converter, it pays to check the condition of the converter first. One simply way of doing this is to check for coolant stains around the converter housing mainly where the gaskets are, if this is ok then find and slowly remove the bottom 2 drain bolts from the converter. If Water/Coolant or Oil drains out, then your converter will need attention such as reconditioning or Replacement. Your engines cooling system must be in good working order as a poorly maintain cooling system can also cause converter water gasket failures.
